How Does Food Extrusion Work?
Mar 18, 2025| In studying the basic principles of extrusion cooking, it is important to understand the order of the physical and chemical changes that happen to the ingredients. Such a process begins with the preconditioned raw materials entering the barrel of the extruder. Within the barrel some ingredients are subjected to heated and busy mechanical forces mostly arising out of the rotation of the screw(s). The temperature treatments of these elements are controlled at all stages, transforming the material in one phase to the next phase until the final product is achieved.

| odel | Power | Capacity | Heater | Dimension(mm) | Weight |
| LYS-65 | 5.5kw | 50 kg/h | 1 kw | 1720*870*1050 | 350 kg |
| LYS-70 | 15kw | 150kg/h | 1 kw | 1720*970*1250 | 500 kg |
| LYS-85 | 18.5kw | 200-300kg/h | 2 kw | 1360*1870*850 | 650 kg |
| LYS-95 | 22kw | 400-500kg/h | 2 kw | 2300*1170*1400 | 850 kg |
In essence, extrusion cooking requires efficient control of temperature, pressure, and mechanical force to achieve the intended effect of creating food products from raw materials. This method highlights the need to control each step of the operation if uniform quality and results are to be achieved.
