The core of the potato chips production line lies in its unique screw structure. Unlike traditional single-screw equipment, the twin-screw design allows the material to undergo a more uniform mixing, shearing and heating process in the barrel.
After the material (such as rice flour, corn flour, etc.) enters from the feed port, it is pushed forward by two intermeshing screws and is subjected to high temperature and high pressure. In this process, the starch gelatinizes and the protein denatures, and finally expands and forms due to the sudden drop in pressure at the moment of exiting the die.
This technology can not only produce ordinary puffed foods, but also make sandwich rice crackers by adjusting process parameters (such as temperature, screw speed, moisture content, etc.). For example, cream, chocolate and other sandwich fillings can be injected into the puffed semi-finished product, and then cut, baked or sprayed with seasoning to form the finished product.
