When maintaining the colloid mill equipment, correctly adjusting the grinding disc gap is a key step, which is related to the equipment's working efficiency and product quality. The following are the steps to adjust the grinding disc gap:
Preparation: Before adjusting the grinding disc gap, make sure that the equipment has been powered off and stopped to ensure safety.
Loosen the limit screw: On the discharge port block, find and loosen the limit screw, which is usually a necessary step before adjusting the grinding disc gap.
Adjust the grinding disc: Loosen the two handles on the adjustment disc (dial) "counterclockwise", and then turn the adjustment disc "clockwise" without turning on the machine. Stop when you feel a little resistance, at this time the grinding disc gap is "0". Remember the reading on the dial, which indicates the actual size of the grinding disc gap.
Fine-tune the gap: According to the fineness requirements of the processed material, appropriately increase or decrease the grinding disc gap. Usually, the scale of the adjustment disc is 0.01mm per large grid advance and retreat. Rotate the adjustment disc counterclockwise to increase the gap and rotate it clockwise to reduce the gap.

Lock the adjustment disk: After adjusting to the required gap, lock the handle on the adjustment disk to ensure that the gap between the grinding discs remains unchanged when the equipment is running.
Check and test: Reinstall the limit screws and then perform a test run to check whether the gap between the grinding discs meets the processing requirements.
Record adjustment data: Record the gap data of each adjustment for reference during the next maintenance.
Cleaning and maintenance: After adjusting the gap between the grinding discs, the grinding discs should be thoroughly cleaned to remove all residues to prevent hard mechanical bonding and damage to the machine.
Regular inspection: Regularly check the wear of the grinding discs and replace or adjust the gap again if necessary.
